Who got their tix yesterday, and how long did it take you to process your purchase? Tell me your story!

Well, I got two tickets after three and a half hours. Was trying IE, Firefox and Opera on a T3 line. Opera fared the best, and was the one that that succeeded in the end.
The whole slowdown could have been avoided if they used Palpal (or a more professional, prepared service). Even when I got through, it was hideously slow. When I choose Paypal as the payment method, things suddenly went back to the normally zippy speed I expect from work's T3 line. Obviously Paypal has the structure to handle thousands of transactions at any given moment.
I honestly wonder why they just don't use Paypal exclusively, and cut out the repeatedly poor performing services of InHouseTicketing.com. Then I could have done it in three and a half minutes instead of three and a half hours.

For one thing, not everyone wants to have to create a Paypal account just for this one purchase, if it's not something they use regularly.
Not sure how many people noticed, but there was a message on the BM site that the service was down for about 2 hours or so, somewhere between 1-ish and 3-ish, due to some electrical thing.

You just enter your credit card and billing information for verification (as in virtually every other online store that I've used), and voila, purchase completed.
Keep in mind that I am not a proponent of Paypal, I just noticed that it functioned flawlessly while the InHouseTicketing system was terrible.

Well, dang, don't listen to the chick with her foot in her mouth! Not necessarily a bad thing, if you have a foot fetish. :)

I had mixed results with the site. Within the first hour or so, once the site actually got linked properly I was able to get into the order site and after a few choice refreshes (thank god the form data reposted correctly), I got in pretty quickly. I guess the irony is, I decided early in the game to just pay the full prices for the tickets as it's only an extra $65, and all things considered, that's peanuts to me (well, peanuts and beer and a steak).
However, a friend of mine needed some computer help for a girlfriend, so came over and was more than happy to get the discounted tickets. Ends up he was having some trouble with his paypal account and left the pay screen open. I switched back to the window hours later, not realizing it was still up, and actually bought the tickets with my paypal (though they were sent to his house). At that time I couldn't get through the normal way so guess I got lucky. So I got one set at $185 after about 4-5 hours or so.
Along the way I tried to get in for a handful of people and experienced the same problems everyone else was having for awhile.
I've been working in the network business for 10 years now, I've never seen increased traffic cause a power outage. Though I guess if it's a Mickey Mouse outfit and they didn't have their racks powered properly in the first place, I can understand, but that sounded a bit suspect to me. Oh well, everyone was in the same boat and I'm sure everyone will still get to Burning Man as desired.
