the first few days i joined, there were a number of fun and interesting thread discussions. nothing terribly world shattering, but interesting. the past few days, nothing. lots of new people joined, a few "hello, my name is_______ and i like ________ and i'm from________. (insert whatever the hell you want in the blank spots... they are all the same anyway) nothing new or interesting from the newbies. hell, nothing new from the jaded fucks either. and dont give me any threads about tribe.net. so they are censoring. big fucking deal. that has been beat with a dead dog, and the dog stinks. you want to talk about that, get back over there and talk to people who think they care, cause i sure as hell dont.

so how about it folks? gonna sit there at your keyboards doing nothing? gonna let others entertain you? how about you blade? i hear you are one of those lesbian people. how do you like it that ahnold veto'ed the gay marriage bill? like it how he basically told you "fuck you, you dont deserve any rights in this state"? what you doing about it? sitting on your slowly spreading butt, doing nothing, expecting others to do it for you? ha. not gonna happen.

Getting mixed messages from your post, though- did you want people to start posting entertaining stuff here, or get up and go start doing "active in the community"-type stuff? I'm afraid the main people you're gonna get with the time to sit here and chat with you are exactly NOT the people actually out *doing* interesting stuff, for the most part... But, hey, I don't have a job myself, so I can sit here and bitch at you all day, if you want... ;)


(Of course, being a Burning Man-related forum, I suppose I could start a conversation about burny stuff, like all the different regional burns I've potentially got lined up to check out this year depending on how things work out, but it's kind of too early to even really be making plans for those, other than the vague kind, and it's rainy and cold and I've been sick, so mostly I think I'll just sit here and poke at grumpy dwarves with my bitch stick... <poke> )

btw, with just a bit of snooping, there are <about> (i could have miscounted) 80 people that joined and have posted nothing. 28 people have posted 1 thing... most likely a "hello, my name is" thing. the rest have posted between 3 and 50 times. so... out of 128 people, about 20 folks are posting for everyone elses ammusement.

Well, not exactly rained out, we just couldn't be around the fire itself- which of course sucked, it was a great fire, but the sheltered area had food and a heater and stuff, so it was still nice.

Not specifically planned, exactly, just yet, but: looking at Toast, probably- not sure about Dark Skies... also potentially (but less potentially than the closer ones, I'm thinking ;) ) a few over on t'other end of the country.

But of course this is all mainly conjecture and wishful thinking, at this point!
(Still- fun to think about, look at pics of old events, yada yada...)
