Software consultant by day, silly party kid by night, didgeridoo player through all of it with beach bum sprinkles on top. I was Born and raised with long hot days and short cold nights right in the middle of the heart line of the only state you can describe with a body part you'd show in public.

Burning Man has been calling since late '96 when I read Bruce Sterling's article "Greetings From Burning Man" in the November issue of Wired magazine. Fresh out of the US Air Force Academy, the idea of Burning Man blew my fucking mind. 9 years later, I finally made it. It took me a few hours, but right around midnight on my first night, I got it. I don't know how many times tears came to my eyes that week when I finally realized I'd made it home.

While somewhat on the nomadic side, L.A. (specifically Redondo Beach) is where I keep all my stuff. If you're in the area, give a shout.

Peace, Jake, Happiness...

Ooh...i love the didj....feel it right in my breastbone, deep down. A primal sound. My favorite Didj player is Marty, from New Monsoon. I have seen Dr Didj, and several friends of mine play as well. The whole circular breathing thing..if I could get it, I'd be rich!! Ha!

Yeah, my favorite thing about the didge is how deep down it resonates. My newest member of the family is a beautiful piece and has so much range it'll knock your socks (or panties) off. Better than a puppy.

Circular breathing, while definitely nice to know, isn't all that critical to didge playing. In fact, when I teach people I generally try to get them to forget about breathing and just work on rhythms. Sooner or later you'll just get it. Though if you want to practice, fill your mouth with water. As you're spitting the water out, suck in air through your nose. You've just learned the basics of circular breathing. Of course, it gets more involved than that in the long run, but that's the gist.

Lecter, we're in the same area, I usually play around my place in Redondo, but venture out from time to time. If you're in the area, drop me a line and we can hang out.
