Subject: DPW report PLAYA CONDITIONS

This playa report was forwarded to me from a friend. If any of you were at the burn in 2001 (as described below) the playa is very very dusty. Riding your bike is like riding in snow in some locations. Please read and enjoy.

DPW report PLAYA CONDITIONS

The Playa is very ODD, different textures. The city is in a new site this
year, slightly north of the last 5 years' location. The "12 mile-trego" road
runs right the fuck thru center camp.

The different textures are on account of a drifting lake on the playa most
of the summer. Some of the stuff has the biggest, deepest crevasses I have
*ever* seen. Dont drop anything unless you are carrying a shovel. Other
areas are the lousy texture we all suffered from in 2001. Some parts were so
hard it was difficult to pound in posts, many blades popped off.

BRING DUST GEAR- IT"S HELLA DUSTY. The more traffic that breaks up those
deeeeep fluffy crevasses the more 2001 style white-outs we can expect. There have already been nasty ones delaying the survey.

Boy, did I take the bait. The playa report above is a HOAX. The playa is supposed to be better this year than was expected. Sorry for any freak outs on your part. I know none of us need to freak out right about now….or do we?

No kidding on that freak out thing. I’m still trying to get my BM project done, complete the jewelry to give away at the burn (which is quite good, I must say) and packed while having to travel to Walla Walla Washington (where I grew up and please don’t ask, you don’t have a large enough server for all the crap I would write about that place) for my in-laws 50th wedding anniversary which is the same day as my Wife and my 11th wedding anniversary. The company I work for is a breath from going out of business. It’s kind of appropriate that BM theme this year.
