Pink Daddy

Hi! I'm Pink Daddy! BM2k5 was my first trip to BRC and I was instantly hooked. I met so many amazing people leading up to the trip, during my stay, and since my visit that has drastically altered my life forever. I am a fire performer and enjoy contributing my pyrotechnics whenever available. I've also recently been interested in learning to DJ.

As you can tell, my signature self-expression is my love for the color Pink. It is symbolic of my release from the oppression of modern society. Who really cares that a man enjoys wearing the color pink? ...certainly not Burners.

I am currently residing in San Diego, California, but I will be moving to Yokosuka, Japan in February. I have already been in contact with Burners in Japan and will continue my love for Black Rock City there. I'm going to attempt to make it to BRC for BM2k6, but the trip from Japan is going to be a long one.

I enjoy meeting new Burners and look forward to participating in this new community!

Pink Snogz for everyone!!!

Hi iii,

Welcome to the site, and thanks for participating.

Looked too far behind the curtain? Yeah, I've done that in other fields, and now I refuse to shake the curtain, much less look behind it. That (and the shock therapy) makes life much more bearable. :)

Hello All,

I am Flamingo and I am also a lover of pink, tho my friends might say I am obsessed!?!?!?! I even have a pink Tattoo.

2003 was my first year and I have gone every year since. Last year my friends and I did a theme camp....The Pink Flamingo Lounge which we plan on doing again this year.

I own my own business and love working. I am engaged to a lovely lady I met at BM in 2004 (I asked her at sunrise on Friday the playa to be my wife last year). We will be married there this year.

Greetings all! Lecter I think this is a great site w/a great start. Maybe it will take on a life of its own and be a huge hit. I got your info off of the 2005 virgin thread, (I am one too) Flamingo almost held a virgin party for us this year too if it werent for the dust storm that is. Right now I am procrastinating, so I cant say how much time I'll have for this spot in the future. For now, good luck and much success!!

Flamingo!!! I was there for your virgin get-togethers this year. My Playa name then was 'Marius'. I wore the same clothes as in my avatar, different sarong each day. I pole danced and spun flags the night of the Pink Party. That evening began my trip into Pink-dom...

HI! I'm RED & that pretty much covers it...

RED 4 Passion
RED 4 HIGH ENERGY
RED 4 boysterous and joyfull communication

My 1st trip 2 the playa was in 2003 and again in 2005. I camped with Conexus my first year, and A.S.S. Camp this past year. Both are based in SF, but I think Conexus isn't together anymore. In 2005 I kept seeing pieces of our HUGE Esplinade campe all over in other camps. Oh well, times change. It was funny because one of the divisions of Conexus ended up randomly camping @ A.S.S. Camp also. Small world!

More about me... I'm Clergy on The Church of Silk. We make silk flags that you can wear, or decorate with~ but mostly for dancing with. It is so lovely.

I'm also 1st Lieutenant Red Jazelle of the Kissing Bandits. Totally fun!

If your interested in either of those things, feel free to contact me and I'll hook you up with the deets.

In love always,
Jazelle

Hello, all, I am Denizia DiGatti (denise of the cats) and I have been going to the burn since 2003. I am now a maker of mutant bicycles since I was first inspired there. When I am not geeking out with Harry Potter fans, I am working on my next years Burning Man bike, reading, or working on my vintage trailer. Burning Man is special to me because I learned there to stop tripping on being a fatgirl.

According to Lecter:

There are no membership fees or ads [Lecter is paying for all of this, software, domain name, forum, webserver, etc., out of his own pocket]. Unless you guys drain him of personal resources that need to be used for rent or food, the site will remain ad-free indefinitely. The site will not be censored. Topics that might be too controversial or politically subversive for the front page of other sites will find their home here.

Commentary is directly related to the articles on the main site, so you can make your voice heard. The site can be searched, so you can find items that are of particular interest to you. The forum is the best software he could find. It offers numerous options and configurations. Popular posts can be kept visible and sorted for easy location. Posts can be rated by participants, and you can be notified when there are responses to threads that you subscribe to. And anyone can participate by submitting articles, posts, journals, photos, links and events.

The one thing I should caution you about, Lecter is pretty strict on things being posted in their appropriate category...he's been called a moderator whore already, but hey...it's his site and I think it's awesome that he's doing this. And the timing? Wow! Yay for Lecter!

Lecter

hey guys. i'm here from tribe also. is tribe dead/ dying?I hope not, as I use Tribe to keep in touch with non-burners. :(

can we post Mature material on this site?I am not going to censor you as long as you post in the right sections. For details, please read the rules. (http://nospectators.com/forum/showthread.php?t=4)

Basically, keep things respectful in the first two sections of the forum, and anything goes in the other sections. This way, people can choose what they want to see/experience, and won't be offended. At least that is my hope. :)

Hi Everybody,

I'm Tigger, or Mizz Kimmie -- people call me those and many other names.

My first burn was in '99. I missed '00 and '01 because I was overseas, but since I came back to the US I've been to '02, 3, 4 and 5. Next one will be year sex! Ahem, I mean six! :p

I used to say that I'll be at Burning Man every year that I'm in the continental US, but if I'm abroad then I can't guarantee it. Well, this year I am going to be abroad at that time, and I'm starting to re-think that position. My friend C@ke said she'd bring all my stuff to the playa, and all I have to do is show up! I love Burning Man, and my Burner friends, so much that I might just have to do that.

Good to be here!

howdy. i'm a grumpy old bastard, hence the nick.

i have a hard time tollerating stupidity. i love reality shows on the telly. stupid people abound on those! i'm glad stephani made it to the final 2 on survivor.

i hate trying to introduce myself on boards such as these. i never know what to say. so its kinda fun to ramble on a bit.

i hate caps so i rarely use them. usually just use them to make a point or emphasise a comment or word. words are interesting, dont you think? use the wrong one in an innocent comment and WHAM! people jump. i think we should have a "stupid word of the day" thread. or a "stupid person" of the day. heh. lets start with the word "stupid". who thought it up and defined it?

why does capital mean both a upper case letter and the main city in a state? i've always wondered that.

i cant find my nail clippers and its bothering me. is my mind fading because i forgot where i put them? hmmm.

so now you know how my mind works. it jumps all over the place. i like that.

SaladBar
12-12-2005, 02:27 PM
Hello, Salad Bar here. I've *almost* gone to the Playa for four years now, looking forward to being there in spirit AND body in 2006. I've produced and attended many burner-type events around LA...Homeslice has graciously adopted me.
As an Aquarian (on the cusp of Capricorn) I find it hard to come up with a few labels to describe me - feels like being boxed in. So, here's a story about the origin of Salad Bar.
At this year's LA decom, there was light rain falling, and I donned myself with a typical "boots and lingerie" ensemble, protected my clear RedBalls black-trimmed rain jacket a la Blade Runner. Somewhere around 2:00 am, someone noted that my clear plastic jacket reminded them of a sneeze shield from a salad bar, and the name stuck.
Not a very sexy title, but once I realized how nourishing, alive, and colorful salad can be, it describes me pretty well.
cheers
Salad Bar "I'm good for you" aka Annemarie

Hey everybody, I'm Jefferson... aka Lono. I don't have a Playa name... because I have never been to the Playa... although I am working towards going this year... er I mean '06 if at all possible. I am relatively new to the whole burner scene, but since I started spinning fire (less then two years ago), I have met some absolutely wonderful folks. I am currently in the middle of reinventing myself after many years of apparently sleeping through life. I am probably doing it all wrong... but heck... at least I am trying. I have always had a problem with inviting myself to do things, always been a bit shy... so in terms of not being a spectator... here I am participating.

And Big Thanks to Lecter for starting this site... I don't know if Tribe is dying or not with the new rules (subject for another thread)... but it's nice to know that if it does... we have a place to hang out with our friends. :)

I'm a burner since 1999, interested in a wide variety of things including music and photography. I'm married, a member of BED (Bureau of Erotic Discourse), and a confirmed computer geek. I'm an East Coast native, but my homes are Santa Cruz, the Big Island, and the playa).

Hi All,

Just signed up here. I'm also still on tribe (seeing how it'll ride out) and pretty inactive on the eplaya.

'05 was my first burn and it won't be my last. I went by myself despite a lot of my friends saying I was crazy. Glad I did something for me. :) I'm forever marked and my thoughts have shifted. I can't go into a store without thinking "oh, i could use that on the playa next year..." Or "that fabric has costume potential." Or the random thought of something I saw on the playa at the strangest times of day.

I have also gotten involved with the local burner community and just love it! :D

I'm a transplant to Vegas originally from Los Angeles.

In a matter of speaking -- YES.

When you crawl out of whatever you got into Xmas morning, check all the corners of each room and especially under the beds and in storage rooms. Many of you have been a source of amusement when the Elves and I watch the things you do at night under the covers when you think noone is watching. For you Special Few -- I will be leaving "Playa Dust" bunnies and balls in assorted locations.

If you awake to find none -- Search out VBS on the playa in 2006 and perform a "special" act of kindness for him and ask that you be added to the Playa Dust B&B List.

Our motto: "Illumination, Navigation, Celebration"

We make sure the city is lit up *every* night (dust storm or no), partly as a service so people can find their way around and partly because it's just a beautiful thang to see all those twinkly lights...

More philosophically, they're about the magic that can happen when a bunch of people spend a bunch of time working and playing together: not only does a bunch of really cool shit get done, but people who'd never met each other before are, by the end of the week, part of an extended "family"... all sort of a condensed version of BM itself, I suppose.

Hello Everyone - Have never posted to anything before so I hope typing in this little box is what I'm supposed to be doing! I've been to BMan 5 times but had to miss it this year as my bus broke down the day before. The feelings that I bring back with me from that event last throughout the year so I will be sure to never make that mistake again.

Luckily I at least got to go to Xingolati and got a very mini taste of the Burner experience. Last weeks Blizzard of Oz helped too.

Anyway - just want to say "Hey" to everyone and thank who ever is responsible for this site. ~Playa Kitten
